ONE HOLSTER, MANY APPLICATIONS
Tantō — the Japanese "short blade" that served as a samurai's sidearm — is the universal(-ish) duty light holster you've been waiting for. The concept of a holster that fits a variety of pistols isn't new, but our approach to this idea will redefine the way you carry your duty-light-equipped guns.
LESS KYDEX = MORE COMFORT
If you've ever worn a pistol with a full-size duty light in the appendix position, you know the feeling of the light bezel pressing against your groin and inner thigh. With other holster designs, this often causes pinching and pain as the edge of the hard Kydex rubs against sensitive skin. We can't make the light itself any smaller, but we can certainly optimize the material around it to reduce this frustrating hotspot.
- Shark Fin Cut – Named after its distinctive silhouette, this cut removes Kydex material from the area where it matters most: the outer edge of the weapon light bezel. Rather than the sharp corner you'll find on many of our competitors' holsters, Tantō is sanded down to a smooth edge that exposes the light. This results in a dramatic improvement to comfort, especially while sitting, kneeling, or bending down.
MAKE YOUR FULL-SIZE PISTOL DISAPPEAR
Much like the dagger and sheath carried by members of the samurai class, our Tantō is made for purpose-driven professionals and the weapons they carry. In other words, it's designed around full-size duty pistols equipped with high-output weapon lights such as the SureFire X300U and Streamlight TLR-1 HL.
We offer two different muzzle length options designed to accommodate either a 4.5-inch or 5-inch barrel. Since this is an open-ended holster design, you can still carry your 5-inch pistol in a 4.5 holster — the only difference is that the end of the muzzle (or compensator) will be exposed.
Every Tantō includes the same modular and adjustable design features we pioneered with our Kaizen holster series:
-
LAS Stack It Wing System
Enhance your holster’s performance with the LAS Stack It Wing System, designed for ultimate versatility. With adjustable ramps of 7°, 11°, and 15°, and two height stackers, you can tailor the perfect grip tilt into your hip and stomach for ideal concealment and speed. -
LAS Stiff Hook Overhooks
Our Stiff Hooks deliver next-level durability and functionality to your Everyday Carry (EDC). Designed for a tough, secure fit, these overhooks keep your holster firmly in place and are compatible with concealed carry belts like Kore, Nexbelt, and Blue Alpha (1.5”–1.75”). -
Retention Adjustment Screw
Unlike other holsters that rely on a strand of tightly stretched shock cord to control retention, Tantō features a simple screw adjustment mechanism. This improves long-term durability and lets you achieve that positive "click" feeling each time your weapon slides into place.
NO MORE COMPROMISES!
In the past, many of us reluctantly accepted the idea that carrying a large, weapon-light-equipped pistol must result in discomfort and printing — that's not true anymore. With the Tantō series, you'll quickly learn that your full-size blaster is easier to carry concealed than you ever thought possible. Try it out and feel the difference.
